Rates & Funding Options
What are Dr. Kwee’s Rates?
The rates vary based on the service provided:
Psychotherapy rates are $220 for a 50 minute session; longer sessions are prorated accordingly. While psychologist fees are not covered by MSP, they are tax deductible.
The current cost of a psychoeducational assessment is $3,300. This is benchmarked to 15 hours of clinical time which includes the clinical interview, all face-to-face testing, scoring, interpretation, report writing, and the feedback session. While the cost of the assessment is often capped at $3,300, in some cases extensive supplemental testing may necessitate an increase in the cost. If there will be any increase in the cost, this will always be discussed with the client beforehand.
There is no fixed rate for a psychological assessment as the actual cost depends on the purpose of the assessment, the tests to be administered, and the length of the assessment. Please inquire further with Dr. Kwee.
What third party payer options are available to help pay for my services?
Most individuals fund a portion of their therapy or testing through some form of extended health insurance. Check with your plan to determine whether it covers the services of a Registered Psychologist, and what your coverage is. Typically, payment is made directly to me and I provide a receipt that you can then submit to your insurance company for reimbursement.
I work with a variety of third party payer programs such as ICBC, WorkSafeBC, the Crime Victims Assistance Program, Jordan’s Principle, and the Autism Funding Program.
Finally, workers on disability may have access to psychotherapy through their disability management companies. However, a separate referral is usually required.
If I do not have access to third party payer funding and cannot afford psychotherapy, do you have a sliding scale?
Yes, a limited sliding scale is available. Please inquire with Dr. Kwee. Typically, services for clergy, missionaries, and other full-time ministry staff are discounted by 15%.
